What have I learned from my 12 years old son during the holidays?
I have just arrived home from a long trip and dropped in the room of my son for a chat before he fell asleep. He told me stories about what happened with him in the school. He performed really well and I become curious about his method of learning. I knew that he does not spend much time with learning at home. He has so many other interesting things to do. He revealed that he prepares himself in the school right before the class then he listens carefully to the teacher. To the end of the lecture he is in the state that the lesson is memorized. So, at home remain only few things to recap. I thought that this principle can be leveraged well at work, too. I immediately remembered the lengthy meetings when we spent a lot of time to recall the known facts which were communicated in advance. During my many years in the business I faced such situations when most of the participants did not prepare for the meeting. It is not only a disrespect to others but root cause of huge loss of time...
